Website maintenance that is actually done, not just billed
Most small business sites are fine until the morning they are not - an update breaks the layout, a plugin gets exploited, or the contact form quietly stops sending and nobody notices until a customer asks why you never called back. Maintenance is the difference between a bad morning and a bad quarter.
| What is covered
The work that keeps a site healthy.
Updates, tested first
Core, plugins and themes updated on a staging copy, so an update never takes your site down. This is the single commonest way a small business site is lost.
Backups off-site
Daily or weekly, kept away from the server, and restored on demand rather than assumed to work. A backup nobody has ever restored is not a backup.
Security monitoring
File changes, login attempts and malware scans watched, with the hole closed if anything gets through - not just an email telling you it happened.
Uptime and SSL
If the site goes down or a certificate is close to expiry, we know before your customers do.
Forms checked
Your enquiry forms are submitted and verified on a schedule. A silent form is the most expensive fault a website has, and it never announces itself.
Small changes
Prices, photographs, staff, hours, a seasonal offer. Send them over and they are done - no ticket queue.
| The time zone question
Pakistan is nine to twelve hours ahead of you. Here is what that actually means.
This is the first thing every American business asks, so it is answered here rather than buried in an FAQ. Lahore is PKT, which is UTC+5 - nine hours ahead of New York, twelve ahead of Los Angeles.
- Routine work happens while you sleep. Updates, backups, scans and speed checks run on our morning, which is your night. You wake up to a site that was maintained, not to a maintenance window.
- Urgent means urgent. Uptime is monitored around the clock, so a site going down at 2am your time is picked up here in the middle of our working day - usually before you know about it.
- A reply the same working day, not the same minute. Send a change at 4pm Eastern and it is picked up the following morning Pakistan time and back with you before your next working day starts. If you need somebody answering at 4pm your time, we are the wrong studio and we will say so.
That last point is the honest trade. A US agency whose entry maintenance plan starts at $350 a month, before a single hour of work is done, can pick up the phone at 4pm in your time zone. We cannot. What we can do is the work, properly, for a price that leaves you budget for the rest of your marketing.
| What we charge
Three plans, in US dollars, published.
Which one you are on is decided by the site, not by haggling - a five-page brochure and a store with stock, payments and tax rules are not the same job to look after. Every plan is per site, per month, and you can cancel any month. There is no setup fee: the health check is free, and any repair the site needs first is quoted separately, once, before a monthly fee starts.
Essential
A brochure or WordPress site up to about ten pages, no checkout. It needs to stay up, stay safe, and change a few times a month.
$99/ month
- Updates tested first - monthly, on a staging copy, never straight onto your live site. Security patches inside 72 hours.
- Weekly off-site backups, plus one before every update. Restore started within one working day.
- Hack clean-up included - no emergency hourly rate.
- Uptime and SSL watched around the clock.
- Every enquiry form submitted and checked monthly, by a person.
- 1 hour of small changes a month, and a plain-language monthly report.
Business
A site the business actually runs on - up to about thirty pages, enquiry forms, bookings or a small catalogue. When it breaks, the phone stops ringing.
$199/ month
- Everything in Essential, plus:
- Updates every two weeks, security patches inside 48 hours.
- Daily backups, restore started within 4 working hours - and a real test restore carried out and reported every quarter, so the number above is one you have seen proven.
- Hack response started within 4 working hours, including closing the way in, with a written account of what got through.
- Forms checked fortnightly; broken links swept monthly.
- 3 hours of small changes a month, page-speed numbers in the report, and a direct WhatsApp line instead of a ticket queue.
Store
WooCommerce or Shopify with payments, shipping and tax rules, up to about three hundred products. An hour of broken checkout costs real money.
$399/ month
- Everything in Business, plus:
- Weekly updates with the checkout tested after every one - a real test order placed before it goes live.
- Backups every 6 hours. Restore started within 2 hours during our working day (5am-2pm US Eastern) and within 8 hours at any other time, seven days a week.
- Hack response on the same clock, any day, with payment gateway and order data checked before the store reopens.
- A weekly end-to-end test order; shipping, tax and gateway rules checked monthly.
- 8 hours of small changes a month - unused hours roll over once, capped at four - plus a 30-minute call with a named person who knows your store.
Work outside a plan is $65 an hour, in half-hour increments, quoted and approved before it starts - never added to an invoice afterwards. For comparison, the published hourly rates of the US agencies that rank for this search are $150 and $200.
What is not included
Published here because the fourth question below is the one most providers will not answer in writing.
- Hosting, domains, SSL certificates and paid plugin or theme licences. You buy those, in your name, and we manage them.
- New pages, redesigns and new features. Quoted separately - a maintenance plan keeps what you have working.
- Content writing, photography, SEO campaigns and ads.
- Bulk product data entry beyond the hours included in your plan.
- Recovering a site that had no backups before we started. That is a repair job, quoted first - we will not take a monthly fee and hope.
| How it works
Simple to start, easy to leave.
Free health check
We look at the site, hosting, backups, security and speed, and send you what we find - whether or not you sign up. You can take that report to any provider, not just us.
Fix what is broken first
Anything urgent is quoted and repaired before a plan starts. We do not put a monthly fee on top of a broken site.
Choose a rhythm
Weekly or monthly checks, and how much small-change time you want each month.
Monthly report
What was updated, backed up and fixed, with the speed numbers, in plain language - not a dashboard screenshot.
Leave whenever
Every account stays in your name and the documentation is yours. Cancel any month; nothing is locked.
| Questions
Questions before starting.
Do you maintain sites you did not build?
Yes, and most of what we look after we did not build. We start with a free health check, quote anything urgent, then take over the regular work. If a site is beyond sensible maintenance we will say so rather than take a monthly fee for it.
How fast do you respond if my site goes down?
Uptime is monitored around the clock, so we usually know before you do - and because Pakistan is nine to twelve hours ahead, a middle-of-the-night failure in the US lands in the middle of our working day. For anything you report yourself, expect a reply within one working day.
What does website maintenance actually include?
Tested updates, off-site backups that are restored rather than assumed, security and malware monitoring, uptime and SSL checks, form testing, and a set amount of small content changes each month. Anything outside that is quoted before it is done, never added to an invoice afterwards.
How much does website maintenance cost per month?
Ours is $99 a month for a brochure site, $199 for a site the business runs on, and $399 for a store - per site, cancel any month, published above rather than hidden behind a form. For context, US industry guides put small-business maintenance at $200-1,000 a month and e-commerce at $500-5,000, and the US agencies ranking for this search start at $350 a month with hacked-site recovery billed on top at $250 an hour.
Is cheap website maintenance worth it?
It depends entirely on what is in it. A low monthly fee that covers plugin updates and nothing else is fine until the day you need a backup restored. Some plans start at $39 a month and we will not pretend to beat that - what we will say is that our $99 plan tests updates on a copy first, restores backups rather than assuming they work, and cleans up a hack without an hourly bill on top. Compare the four things that matter - restore time, whether updates are tested, what happens if you are hacked, and what is excluded - and the cheap plans separate themselves quickly.
Can I cancel?
Any month. Every account is in your name and the documentation goes with you. We would rather you stayed because the work is good than because leaving is painful.
